The Woven Self Trauma-Informed Therapy in New Jersey

Supportive, trauma-informed therapy for adolescents, adults, and couples across New Jersey through telehealth. Our work centers on trauma recovery, helping your nervous system feel safer, your relationships feel more secure, and your sense of self feel more grounded.

I may be the right therapist for you if…

You’ve spent years talking about it, whether it’s the relationship, the incident, the abuse, but your body and brain never quite moved past it.

You might recognize yourself in some of the following:

  • Do you find yourself emotionally reactive even when you logically know you’re safe or “should be fine”?
  • Does your nervous system feel stuck on high alert, hypervigilant, shut down, or swinging between the two?
  • Do you notice repeating relationship patterns that don’t make sense to you, even though you’re self-aware?
  • Do you carry shame or self-criticism for not being “over it yet”?
  • Do your emotions feel intense or overwhelming, making it hard to focus on daily tasks?
  • Are your sleep patterns disrupted, trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or frequent nightmares?
  • Do intrusive or repetitive thoughts about past events show up when you least expect them?
  • Does your body feel tense, braced, or unable to fully relax, even during calm moments?

If you’re nodding along, this isn’t a personal failure, it’s how trauma lives in the nervous system.

Meet Loren Galese

Loren is the owner of Woven Self Therapeutic Services, LLC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey who has been practicing since 2014.

Loren began her academic path in art education, drawn to creativity, expression, and emotion. After taking an introductory psychology course, she found herself pulled toward understanding the brain, behavior, and the reasons people feel, protect, adapt, and heal.

Anxiety has been part of Loren's own life since childhood, which informs her steady, compassionate understanding of how overwhelming it can feel when the nervous system is constantly on alert.

She works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, family issues, boundaries, and empowerment.

Loren is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). For couples work, she incorporates the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Her approach is person-centered and collaborative. You set the pace, and the work moves in a way that feels safe, manageable, and grounded in trust.
